The aim of the EBR Enterprise Operation is to contribute to the balanced and sustainable development of the cross-border region by stimulating innovation at the local level, by stimulating innovation in SMEs and micro-enterprises, filling gaps in the existing business infrastructure and developing sustainable cross border clusters and networks to support the region's continuing development

East Border Region conducted a comprehensive consultation process during 2007 involving Councillors and Officials from across various relevant departments within its 10 member Local Authorities and in tandem with other key stakeholders within the region. The purpose of the consultation was to identify the Enterprise needs within the region and to translate these needs into project proposals for submission to the INTERREG IVA Programme.

Following economic appraisal and approval from the INTERREG IVA Steering Committee EBR have secured 6 Enterprise based projects. A summary of these projects is available to the left.
