The Joint Secretariat congratulated the East Border Region Committee who have been dedicatedly working on cross border co-operation since 1976 at a time when cross border working was both radical and ground breaking.

Speaking on the role of NSMC in bringing together Ministers from both administrations to take forward co-operation on all relevant sectors Mr Tom Hanney alluded to the vast experience of the East Border Region Committee “they have addressed areas of cross border co-operation that are central to the remit of the NSMC and I trust that they will prove to be a very useful source of cross border experience and knowledge as the NSMC moves forward”.

Chair of the East Border Region Committee Alderman Margaret Craig expressed her thanks to the NSMC for such an enjoyable evening “I would like to thank the NSMC for hosting this reception in recognition of the hard work and dedication of the East Border Region Committee.
