iOTA - Website Launch

East Border Region Ltd recently launched its new iOTA Programme website in Banbridge District Council. Funded through the European Union's INTERREG IVA Cross Border Programme, iOTA offers a programme of innovation support to potential and existing small and micro businesses throughout the East Border Region.
This structured programme of support will include initiatives under two strands, including training, advice, road shows, innovation mentoring and advice, workshops, clinics and master classes.
The Vice-Chairman of East Border Region, Councillor Alan McDowell said "this programme is a real boost for potential new and existing small businesses in the east border region supporting them to increase their innovation skills that will in turn help them develop and remain competitive in today's marketplace."
The iOTA Programme proposes to take the process of innovation to businesses by road shows in towns and villages across the region, and will seek to enhance understanding of the process of innovation and make local businesses more aware of the benefits of innovation in their businesses.
The iOTA Programme is aimed at individuals, small and micro-enterprises across all sectors and throughout the geographical region of east border region. The aim is to develop the innovation capacity and capability of the participating small businesses and individuals. In this regard it will better position the individuals and small businesses to, for example, avail of the existing support and assistance offered by the state and semi-state agencies, provide opportunities to access skills, experience and knowledge in the third level sectors on cross-border basis as well as through up-skilling of staff in innovation processes allow businesses to be better positioned to capitalise on market opportunities, find new markets and improve their overall performance.

The iOTA Programme is now seeking to recruit potential new and existing small to medium sized enterprises interested in developing new skills in innovation processes and improving their performance and market opportunities.
