Financial Leadership for Externally Funded Programmes
This training is delivered as part of the BRIDGE project and is open to council officials and elected members from East Border Region and Irish Central Border Area Network member councils. If you’re unsure whether your organisation is eligible, please check our website for further information.
What will I learn?
This workshop covers the financial leadership needed to deliver compliant, well-governed externally funded programmes. It covers financial governance, programme management and financial control. It also builds skills in project sustainability and strategic decision-making across complex, multi-partner projects.
How will it be delivered?
Through practical discussion, participants will build effective governance arrangements for multi-partner projects. They’ll also create robust financial monitoring and reporting processes, and learn how to manage delivery risks, cost pressures and funding constraints as they arise across a project’s lifecycle.
What will I get out of it?
By the end of the session, participants can identify financial risks that threaten project delivery and put the right mitigations in place. In addition, they’ll understand how financial performance, outcomes and benefits realisation connect. Finally, they’ll prepare projects for financial closure and apply lessons learned from previous PEACEPLUS, Shared Island and EU-funded programmes.
