DESCRIPTION:This training is delivered as part of the BRIDGE programme and is open to staff and elected members from East Border Region and Irish Central Border Area Network member councils. If you’re unsure whether your organisation is eligible\, please check our website for further information.\nWhat will I learn?\nThis workshop builds participants’ financial knowledge and confidence for today’s local government landscape. It covers local government finance\, medium-term financial planning\, budget monitoring and financial resilience. Participants learn how financial decisions happen\, and the risks and responsibilities involved. \nHow will it be delivered?\nThrough practical discussion and an interactive budgeting exercise\, participants explore the difference between revenue and capital funding. They examine how inflation and market conditions affect major projects. They also apply the principles of good financial governance. \nWhat will I get out of it?\nBy the end of the session\, participants can interpret financial information with confidence.
