Objective: To build collaboration and stronger connections among cross-border groups, local councils, and regional stakeholders – strengthening institutional networks, improving coordination, and creating a more cohesive approach to regional development.
Activities: Networking events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions where participants identify shared challenges, share resources, and develop solutions for the region together.
Target Group: Cross-border groups and the 12 participating councils on both sides of the border.

Establishing and strengthening networks that span the border corridor and its functional areas. Facilitated discussions and peer-to-peer learning build the skills to maintain effective cross-community and cross-border partnerships, share resources, and build trust.

Insights into successful institutional collaboration models through interactive workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions. Participants develop collaborative frameworks that improve joint problem-solving and institutional coordination across borders.

Leveraging Existing Best Practice Models
Objective: To learn from successful cross-border cooperation initiatives elsewhere and adapt them to the local context, keeping the region informed by current practice.
Activities: A programme of European knowledge exchange symposia bringing international experts together with local participants – panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and field visits to working cross-border projects.

International experts and local participants examine best practice in cross-border collaboration across a series of symposia. Panel discussions, workshops, and field visits to successful projects in Northern Ireland, Ireland, the UK, Europe, and internationally.
Consensus Based Decision-Making Framework
Building Consensus in Decision-Making
A framework designed to outlive the funding.
Objective: To create an inclusive, transparent decision-making framework enabling diverse stakeholders to shape policy and resource allocation – a model of governance sustainable beyond the project’s lifespan, and replicable elsewhere.
Activities: Facilitated workshops, consultation sessions, and ongoing discussion through which participants collaboratively design a framework reflecting the region’s needs and priorities.

Decisions Everyone Can Stand Behind
Developing a Consensus-Based Decision-Making Framework
Building a decision-making framework grounded in inclusivity and transparency. Participants learn to gather input from diverse stakeholders, manage differing perspectives, and develop policies reflecting shared goals – with practical tools to sustain the framework after the project ends.
